Wear Chemistry

Flash fashion show literally stops traffic in central London

New eco-friendly fashion label Wear Chemistry caused a scene in central London this morning with an impromptu catwalk show on a zebra crossing during rush hour.

The brand used the event to release their latest selection of vibrant mens and womenswear made with sustainable bamboo cotton. The collection was paraded up and down pedestrian crossings outside trendy Carnaby Street and fashion-mecca Oxford Circus, stopping traffic in its tracks to give a further green edge to the launch.

  • Models paraded up and down fashion mecca Oxford Circus and trendy Carnaby Street
  • Traffic was at a standstill for 5 minutes as the fashion protest made its point
  • Models for the event were recruited via Facebook and Twitter
  • The event was used to launch the latest range of mens and womens clothing made with sustainable bamboo cotton
  • The brand proved you don’t have to forsake style and confidence when wearing eco-friendly fashion
  • Wear Chemistry garments are made using 70% bamboo and 30% organic cotton

Trish Richards, co-founder of Wear Chemistry commented:

“We wanted to do something that would prove fashion still has the capacity to stop people in their tracks – even in the ever moving city of London. By showing eco-friendly commuting can dominate even the aggressive London traffic, the whole event proves that having a conscience about what you do doesn’t mean you need to forsake style and confidence.”
