Tables turned on military fitness instructors for Poppy Appeal
Complete releaseRevenge is on the cards this week for British Military Fitness instructors as members are being given the chance to turn the table on their instructors and dish out the burpees to raise money for charity. To mark Remembrance Day and to raise money for the Royal British Legion’s (RBL) Poppy Appeal, British Military Fitness instructors will be doing a burpee for every ‘Like’ on Facebook and also every donation, as well as laying poppy wreaths at their sessions on the weekend of the 7th/8th of November in parks across the country.
- ‘Train the Trainer’ will see BMF members from over 130 parks across the country put their instructors through their paces with the Likes for Burpees challenge
- This will be followed by all classes laying a poppy wreath and participating in a minute of silence
- The Royal British Legion provides thousands of modern veterans, service men, women and their families with vital advice and support

Harry Sowerby, Managing Director of BMF, commented:
As all of our instructors are either former or serving military personnel, Remembrance Day is an event which has a very special place in all of our hearts. Following our successful Train the Trainer campaign last year, we thought it only appropriate that we up the ante this year, and let our members dole out the burpees to their instructors for once! We’ve already had lots of donations coming through from members who are eager to seek revenge on their instructors, and hope we see even more coming through to raise money for this fantastic cause.
He continued:
This year we are also laying poppy wreaths and holding a minutes silence at all our parks with weekend sessions. We hope that through both of these events we can raise money and awareness, as well as taking time to remember those who have made great sacrifices for their country.
