Jump the line for a Jimny
Turo becomes the first car rental app to sport a Suzuki Jimny
Drivers can get behind the off-roaders wheel for just £39 a day
As of today, petrol-heads can skip an eighteen-month waiting list and save themselves £17k for the chance to jump in a Suzuki Jimny SZ5. The off-roader is now available to hire and drive through car sharing app Turo for just £39 a day.
The fourth-generation SUV officially hit the road at the start of the year fuelled by gallons of hype, but low supply has meant only a lucky few have been able to get behind its gear-stick, until now.
Owner of the 4WD Tom Exton took receipt on March 3rd and has worked its 1.5-litre engine just a handful of times.
Lauded the most iconic car of 2019, the lightweight 4×4 may have a retro toy-like design, but it’s built for rugged terrain with a robust ladder frame, offering unrivalled agility and powerful torque when the going gets tough. Drivers will benefit from 100% fully comprehensive insurance cover for any eventuality provided by Allianz.
Tom Exton, owner of the Suzuki Jimny SZ5, commented: “I’m a big car enthusiast and particularly proud about owning the new Jimny, but there’s only so much I can take it out. It’s built to be worked hard and go on big adventures, so it’s cool to give people who are as mad about cars as me the chance to get out in it, rather than it sitting in my garage.”
Whilst Tom’s giving drivers the chance to skip a year-long (at least!) waiting line, the pair expect another queue to form pretty quickly on Turo, the world’s leading peer-to-peer car sharing marketplace.
A car fanatic on and off the track, Exton’s garage also houses an Aventador SV, F12, Porsche 911T, G63 and Defender to name a few, so guests are in for a spectacle when the pair hand over the keys on collection.
Off the back of listing the coveted car, Turo has become one of the first car rental companies in the world to offer the SUV.
Xavier Collins, Turo UK Director said: “I’ve got no doubt there are drivers up and down the UK who have the Jimny on their list of dream cars, so it’s cool we can be the ones to get them behind its wheel.”
“We’re setting out to put the UK’s 30m cars and the world’s one billion cars to better use, so we’re making strides here, and it’s great to have the Hamilton brothers on-board as hosts.”
The car has parked-up alongside an impressive show of supercars and classic rides on the app, including a Tesla Model S, Toyota GT86, Ford Mustang Coupe, Porsche 356 Speedster and Delorean DMC-12, which are all available to rent.
The Suzuki Jimny is now available to hire through Turo for £39 / a day until the 31st of May. To book, visit:
