Parklands Okehampton Leisure Centre is joining forces with Okehampton Community Recreation Association (OCRA) and the South West Pentathlon to support this year’s Okehampton Biathlon on Friday 22nd August.
Parklands Okehampton is hosting nine swimming lessons for pupils in Year 7 from Okehampton College who are unable to swim 25 metres. The lessons hope to raise awareness of the fact that half of all school children cannot swim.
To coincide with Drowning Prevention Week Parklands Okehampton and Meadowlands Tavistock are hosting two events to raise awareness of the third highest cause of child deaths in the UK. On Saturday 28th June, Survive and Safety Sessions will be held from 10am to 2.30pm highlighting dry side and pool skills.
