Output Group

Design agency Studio Output hosts a series of creative industry thought leadership events called Glug, championing undiscovered creative talent and insights from all walks of life.

Launched in 2007 by Ian Hambleton , Group CEO at Studio Output and Nick Clement, Creative Director at Made Studio, the duo were inspired to create an event that dismissed stuffy and stale networking DNA and created the first ever ‘notworking’ concept, where fellow movers and shakers in the creative and design community come together in a relaxed and rock and roll environment.

Based around a series of talks and informal networking that covers graphic design, advertising, fashion, visual arts, architecture and the crafts, Glug is one of the most exciting, credible and well-attended creative events in London and beyond. The regular monthly meet-ups are now showcased in eight locations around the world in London, New York City, Birmingham, Beijing, Brighton, Edinburgh, Auckland & Nottingham and continues to rapidly expand in popularity.

We’d love for you to come down and experience Glug for yourself. The next Glug event dubbed “The Creative Mashup” will see eight to 10 speakers discuss a range of topics over 10 minutes. The Creative Mashup will be hosted in London, 30th October 2014, 6.30pm – 1am.

Ian Hambleton , Group CEO at Studio Output commented:

“Biased as I am, Glug has become one of most exciting, well attended creative industry events in London and beyond. The eclectic mix of a design talk and rock gig brings an exciting addition to what we like to call ‘notworking’.

Myself and Nick Clement set it up as a sort of anti networking event because these sorts of things are so traditional and stale. Essentially it’s about lots of likeminded people in one place, either meeting strangers and networking or not. It’s hard enough these days finding time to catch up with people I already know so is a casual environment for creative folk to meet up and enjoy like-minded company.

It can be quite rough and ready at times, but so long as we continue to put on high quality talent, people seem to love it. More than anything else Glug is about championing the UK Design and Creative sector, particularly the new upcoming talent.”

Nick Clement – Creative Director, Made Studio commented:

“I’m really looking forward to pushing Glug into unchartered territory in 2015, we have some big plans to establish it as a thought leader in it’s category through workshops, bigger events and it’s organic spread to the rest of the world.”

“Up to now it’s been the ultimate Notworking night out for creative practitioners and students, misfits, renegades and the cutting edge of what it is to be a creative person in this glorious industry, but it needs to grow with the Gluggers, as it’s these lovely people we put this intoxicated and invigorating party on for. Come along, be involved and be inspired.”
