About Orchard Pig

Orchard Pig is the cider and juice company well and truly Rooted in Somerset™, where it all began in the noughties with Andrew Quinlan and Neil Macdonald enjoying their home-made cider and hog roast with friends. Born out of a shared passion for great food and old Spots; the original orchard pigs, and an accidental discovery that Somerset cider apples make a stonkingly good drink.

Orchard Pig promises to make you as happy as a pig in sh*t

It’s not all blue this coming Monday thanks to cheeky Somerset cider brand, Orchard Pig. The cider maker is promising to make the British public as happy as a pig in shit, by literally drawing the nation as happy pigs in shit on the most depressing day of the year.

  • Orchard Pig wants to turn the concept of Blue Monday on its head by encouraging positive vibes throughout the day and has partnered with an illustrator to make the popular expression come alive on Twitter. Even if Monday is full of doom and gloom, hopefully this will give the public snout to worry about.
  • Using #HappyAsAPig the UK can get a personalised pick me up from Orchard Pig on Monday 16th January. Members of the public should tweet @OrchardPig with a picture of themselves and the team promises to make you as happy as a pig in shit (literally).
  • Each image will be drawn on the day by up and coming illustrator Gogden, and you’ll be able to view behind the scene footage of him in action over on Orchard Pig’s Instagram story.
  • Lucky pigs will also be sent a hamper of Orchard Pig cider and juice alongside their personalised pigture to banish those Monday blues.

Andrew Quinlan, Founder of Orchard Pig commented:

“We know January is hard, but we wanted to look at Blue Monday differently. Just because all the factors add up and someone, somewhere, has told you to feel sad, doesn’t mean you should. In true Orchard Pig fashion, if someone says that’s not possible, we’re obviously going to try. Here’s to being as happy as a pig in shit on the most depressing day of the year!”
