About Orchard Pig

Orchard Pig is the cider and juice company well and truly Rooted in Somerset™, where it all began in the noughties with Andrew Quinlan and Neil Macdonald enjoying their home-made cider and hog roast with friends. Born out of a shared passion for great food and old Spots; the original orchard pigs, and an accidental discovery that Somerset cider apples make a stonkingly good drink.

It’s raining cider at Glastonbury

Orchard Pig creates a unique festival queue cider delivery service

Orchard Pig today is launching a brand new cider delivery service to bring a little bit of happiness to those festival goers stuck in the #GlastonburyTraffic.

The cider maker, which is based in the West Bradley Orchards, next to Glastonbury Festival has enlisted the help of Chief Innovation Officer and farm favourite, Roger Larder to use the ‘heal-toe express’ to hand deliver cans cans of cider to passengers who are stuck in the queue.

The Glastonbury favourite is asking people to tweet @OrchardPig using the hashtag #CiderForecast with the details of where they are stuck and their number plates for their chance to win free cans of Reveller cider to enjoy once they have reached the festival site.

Roger commented,

“We normally like to do things that involve innovative technology when it comes to delivering cider, but sometimes the old fashioned ways are the best. I’ve got my two wheels out in the form of a push bike and will be watching Twitter to see who is in need of a cider delivery to cheer them up! After all, it should be fun all of this festival malarkey.”

Satisfying its customers in any way possible is at the heart of the brand, this goes from taste right through to the delivery. In 2015 Orchard Pig began experimenting with drone delivery, however it also wanted to explore new delivery options that no one is yet to trial because it wants to be at the forefront of new and fun technologies… or just make people happy when it’s raining and they can’t get into a festival.
