About MorphCostumes

Founded in 2009, and originally called ‘Morphsuits’, the costume brand was created by brothers Fraser and Ali Smeaton and friend Gregor Lawson - MorphCostumes is now the fancy dress phenomenon taking over the world. In 2009, the range of costumes included just six plain coloured Morphsuits. Five years on, the range of costumes has expanded to include: digital designs created by ex-NASA engineer, Mark Rober that integrate wearable smartphone technology to animate the designs, for example Halloween costumes that display real life beating hearts or open flesh wounds filled with maggots. The range also includes Digital Christmas jumpers as well as a host of officially licensed costumes, for example Tetris blocks that use pop-up tent technology, and a gargantuan amount of other varieties in between. 2014 saw the launch of MorphCostumes to pave the way to the next phase of the company’s future and to further cement the brand as the first household name in the costumes sector, following the launch of a new brand identity, advertising campaign, expanded range of costumes, commerce website and, packaging and customer experience. MorphCostumes is passionate about innovation, so there is a huge amount of exciting NPD in the pipeline for later this year and beyond, so watch this space…

MorphCostumes expands its superhero costume collection with in-built super powers

MorphCostumes expands its collection of next generation, officially licenced sci-fi Morphsuits with built-in augmented reality

Today Morph Costumes, inventors of the iconic full-body spandex Morphsuits, announces its latest mission to morph UK fancy dress fanatics into virtually powered superheroes. The costume pioneers have united with Walt Disney Company once again to upgrade its range of Marvel character Morphsuits and create full-body renditions of some of the most iconic on-screen heroes and villains, including new Disney characters, too.

Using state of the art high-definition printing, the collection boasts the biggest range of spandex Marvel Costumes in the world and are split into three tiered price ranges, including the iconic Deluxe Morphsuits Collection, which consists of the Amazing Spiderman and Amazing Spiderman 2 costumes as well as Captain America, Iron ManWolverine and Deadpool too (RRP: £40.99). All feature a fully covered HD design and built-in augmented reality, giving the wearer virtual super powers, which are not available anywhere else.

Superhero power-couple Mr & Mrs Incredible, and trusted friend Frozone, make up the new Disney collection, which use photo-realistic printing as well as a blend of premium materials to ensure a high quality product. This range joins the new Marvel Universe collection;  Black BoltBlack PantherCarnageDaredevil and his arch nemesis Bullseye, and all are covered in high definition graphics. (RRP: £35.99).

If the Deluxe Collection is not what you’re looking for, the top five iconic characters Spiderman, Captain America, Iron Man, Wolverine and Deadpool have been added to the traditional Morphsuit collection. These fantastic suits use photo-realistic printing so that every detail of each character is brought to life. Plus there is the same great product quality with double stitching, double zip and the perfect blend of materials to ensure clear vision. (RRP: £30.00)

If you’re a superhero on a budget, the new Basic Morphsuit range offers Marvel fans a simplified digital print design of the original characters costumes including SpidermanIronmanCaptain AmericaWolverine and Deadpool. They incorporate the same great quality you’d expect from Morphsuits, which means you still get an awesome MorphCostume at a really great price. (RRP: £20.99)

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Morphsuit was the most popular costume in 2014 and MorphCostumes is “thrilled at how out of this world these costumes are. Being able to power up Darth Maul’s double bladed sabre and fire Boba Fett’s Carbine rifle is just awesome”. And, this is just the start – fans can also expect more exciting product launches throughout 2015 with a whopping thirty three designs due to make up the collection in total.

Gregor Lawson, Co-founder of MorphCostumes commented:
“We’re incredibly excited to introduce these remarkable movie characters to costume fans and make it possible for them to walk the walk, talk the talk and look identical to their favourite heroes and villains. We guarantee these latest costumes can bring out the inner hero in anyone and we’re proud to be working with Disney to transform fans into their favourite sci-fi characters.”

Gregor Lawson, Co-founder of MorphCostumes continued:
“Transforming on-screen icons has been huge fun. We’re determined to make everyone the life of the party and introducing different costume prices means our fans will never miss out on the opportunity to rock amazing costume designs.”
