About MorphCostumes

Founded in 2009, and originally called ‘Morphsuits’, the costume brand was created by brothers Fraser and Ali Smeaton and friend Gregor Lawson - MorphCostumes is now the fancy dress phenomenon taking over the world. In 2009, the range of costumes included just six plain coloured Morphsuits. Five years on, the range of costumes has expanded to include: digital designs created by ex-NASA engineer, Mark Rober that integrate wearable smartphone technology to animate the designs, for example Halloween costumes that display real life beating hearts or open flesh wounds filled with maggots. The range also includes Digital Christmas jumpers as well as a host of officially licensed costumes, for example Tetris blocks that use pop-up tent technology, and a gargantuan amount of other varieties in between. 2014 saw the launch of MorphCostumes to pave the way to the next phase of the company’s future and to further cement the brand as the first household name in the costumes sector, following the launch of a new brand identity, advertising campaign, expanded range of costumes, commerce website and, packaging and customer experience. MorphCostumes is passionate about innovation, so there is a huge amount of exciting NPD in the pipeline for later this year and beyond, so watch this space…

Do you dare to bare? MorphCostumes high definition ‘Birthday Suit’ is only for the brave

Global fancy dress pioneers team up with Faux Real Apparel to design new and improved controversial naked costume range.

Morph Costumes, inventors of the all-in-one spandex Morphsuit took the fancy dress industry by storm last year when it teamed up with Faux Real Apparel to design a limited edition collection of naked costumes, which sold out in just 48 hours. Now back by popular demand, the costume mavericks and novelty apparel pranksters have joined forces once more to create a new and improved range, which is guaranteed to turn heads this summer.

The new selection includes a sexy naked man with a censored nether region, a naked hillbilly complete with tan lines, tattoos and beautiful teeth, and coming soon to the new collection will be a hunky naked black man. All of the costumes are created using photorealistic, high definition print technology and have been designed to not only raise eyebrows but to ‘raise the benchmark for quality costumes in the UK’.

The audacious new Morphsuits arrive just in time for summer and are perfect for a variety of occasions including April Fools Day, Stag Parties, charity fun runs and festivals. A fancy dress dream for any aspiring pranksters, the costumes will allow you to bare all without risk of arrest, so if you’re a best man looking to make the future groom cringe with embarrassment or fancy turning up to work starkers on April Fools Day, MorphCostumes has got it, and your bits, covered.

Let’s go streaking!

To test out the shock factor of the costumes, YouTube prankster and internet sensation, Trey Prankz took to the streets in all his glory and went ‘streaking’ through shopping centres, local parks, restaurants and cafes to see what kind of reaction he would get.

Gregor Lawson, Co-founder of MorphCostumes commented:

“We’re dedicated to creating not only the best quality, but also the most creative and impactful costumes on the market. We want everyone who wears a Morphsuit to feel like the life and soul of the party, and what better way to make yourself the centre of attention than being in the buff, without actually taking your clothes off? The launch last year was a great way for us to test the British public’s reaction, but now we know that the Brits are up for a bit more than just a strip tease, we’re daring to bare all with this new and improved collection.”

Gregor continued:

“The partnership with Faux Real was such a natural fit for us. The print quality of the costumes is phenomenal, and after the success of the original range, it just seemed right to work with them again and see what we could come up with second time around. We always want to stay ahead of the game in terms of design and innovation to make sure we’re providing the most original and unique costumes for the British public, and right now, I don’t think it gets more unique than this.”

A couple of passers by commented:

“I couldn’t believe it. I definitely thought he was naked at first. He was running pretty fast so it was hard to tell from a distance, but I think everyone who saw him was pretty shocked – There were a lot of screams and cheers. It’s got to be the ultimate prank costume.”

The Faux Real Naked Costume range is now available for purchase via the MorphCostumes website, with prices starting from £40.95. If you’d like to check out the costumes in action head to the MorphCostumes Facebook page and you could even be in with a chance to win your very own naked Morphsuit!
