Whether planning a weekend away with the girls, celebrating a romantic retreat or simply need to take time out for a spot of self-care love, there are few things better than the prospect of an indulgent spa escape. To mark National Spa Week and celebrate all things zen, Mercure has rounded up the best hotel […]
Sheffield’s Kenwood Hall Hotel & Spa has had a makeover, and it’s even more idyllic than before
If parkland views didn’t make historic Kenwood Hall idyllic enough, Mercure has given its spa and interior a stylish makeover after acquiring it this Spring. The contemporary new hotel design honours the hotel’s rich history and original features dating back to the 1800s, perfectly reflecting a blend of the Mercure brand and locally inspired influences.
Set in 12 acres of idyllic English countryside, the 114-bedroom hotel has been updated to offer 24 new ‘Privilege’ bedrooms in which guests can take advantage of giant king-sized Topbrass beds, cosy white bathrobes, slippers, personal coffee machines and other complimentary benefits.
Those visiting for a relaxing weekend will welcome the freshly redesigned spa and health club, boasting a fully equipped gym, heated swimming pool, whirlpool, steam and sauna rooms. A variety of spa treatments are on offer for guests to take advantage of, all before sitting back and relaxing in the air-conditioned fitness suites as they take in the picturesque leafy views over the lake and woodlands.
Located just a stone’s throw from Sheffield’s city centre and with easy access to the M1, Mercure Kenwood Hall Hotel & Spa is the perfect base for those looking to escape the city without losing the convenience of one. Guests can explore the local sights in Sheffield, switch off in the Peak District or soak up the heritage of Chatsworth House & Gardens.
The hotel is pet-friendly, inviting every member of the family to make the most of the beautiful parklands for a short break, romantic retreat or family celebration.
The freshly designed Mercure property also boasts 11 spacious function spaces accommodating up to 200 guests, making it the perfect backdrop for any wedding ceremony or reception throughout the year.
Guests will also soon be able to experience the great British tradition of afternoon tea with the hotels in-house tea room. Due to open on the 17th June, the Laura Ashley Tea Rooms will offer a delightful menu of cakes, scones, sandwiches and Laura Ashley classic blend loose leaf teas, as well as savoury, brunch and light bite options. For those looking to make their afternoon tea experience extra special, there are Prosecco and Champagne packages to choose from.
Becky Dyche, General Manager commented:
“More and more tourists are looking to UK staycations for their holidays so we’re excited to be able to accommodate guests with our new Privilege rooms and redesigned spa and support local tourism. We’re thrilled to be able to open the doors to our newly refurbished hotel and welcome more guests than ever before to explore all that Kenwood has to offer.”
This addition to the Mercure family will further extend the total number of Mercure hotels in the UK to 85.
