Bristol hotel launches street art tour package in honour of elusive local hero

In celebration of Banky’s rich Bristolian heritage, Mercure Bristol Holland House has launched a special street art package inviting guests to stay, dine and discover his famous graffiti works for a special rate.

Bristol’s buildings and streets play canvas to more than ten of the elusive artist’s pieces, ranging from his earliest creations to more recent iconic pieces, including The Girl With The Pierced Eardrum and Well Hung Lover, but they aren’t all easy to spot if you’re not a local.

And now, in partnership with walking tour company ‘Where the Wall’, visitors to Bristol can discover every spray with Mercure’s new package, as well as enjoying breakfast and a 3-course dinner in the Urban Bar & Kitchen.

On the street art tour, guests will journey through Banksy’s humble beginnings, starting with Rose Trap through to The Mild Mild West, spanning his emergence as one of the world’s most revered contemporary artists. As well as marking the 30 anniversary this year, July is rumoured to signify the artists birthday.

What’s more, the street art doesn’t stop at the front door as Mercure Bristol Holland House boasts a selection of original artwork inspired by Bristol’s rich art heritage across the public spaces and bedrooms. Guests will also welcome the opportunity to unwind in the hotel’s swimming pool and gym facilities before exploring the local area.

Lisa Goldson, Sales Executive at Mercure Bristol Holland House, commented: “People travel to Bristol to get a glimpse of Banksy’s work – he’s a local icon, but some of his graffiti is as enigmatic as him! To toast his legacy and birthday, we’re pleased to give our guests the unique chance to discover all of his works from our hotel, which is a stone’s throw away from many of them.”

To launch the package, the hotel is calling-on people with the surname ‘Banksy’ to apply for the chance of winning. To enter, simply contact before 15th August 2019.

The exclusive package is available every Saturday and Sunday from now until 30th November 2019. Prices range from £92 for one guest and £122 for two guests staying on Saturday to £111 for one guest and £142 for two on Sunday.

Guests with an existing booking can upgrade to the package for an additional £32 per person or £62 for two people sharing.

It joins other packages as part of Mercure’s Discover Local Series this year, which brings guests closer to local stories, history and culture across the UK and internationally through unique experiences. To find out more and book a package, visit
