About Kopparberg

Tucked away in the Swedish countryside, in the small town of Kopparberg, you’ll find a little brewery with unique tastes. Built back in 1882 the Kopparberg Bryggeri, with its traditional red timber falu walls, uses a rare, bubbling source of soft water from the town as the perfect ingredient in our deliciously refreshing fruit ciders. More than 130 years later our brewery remains independent and is today owned by the Bronsman family, and the cider we produce is as uncomplicated as the water in the town: fresh, pure, and very, very refreshing, just the way we like it.

Kopparberg’s surprise social media wagon rolls into Glasgow

Kopparberg, the independent Swedish cider brand brought a ray of sunshine into an otherwise gloomy Glasgow summer evening last week, as a lucky Glaswegian claimed a unique prize via Twitter. By tweeting to Kopparberg why he wanted something amazing to happen to him this week, new business manager Colin Chapman had a Kopparberg truck roll into Buchanan Street to deliver a prize like no other.

  • Dubbed the #happenings, Kopparberg has been bringing unique events direct to the doorstep of its Twitter followers all over the UK this summer, with Colin claiming the third and final prize.
  • Although it appeared like any other truck, once Colin and his friends finished work, the Kopparberg vehicle exploded into action, transforming into his own personal Swedish forest bar.
  • Complete with free cider, DJ, lanterns and wild foliage, the event stunned passers by on one of the cities busiest shopping precincts.

Kopparberg is a brand synonymous with getting together with friends in the summer sun, so we thought why not bring the Swedish summer right to Colin’s doorstep?”

 

The #Happening Competition:

The competition forms part of Kopparberg’s campaign to support its new Elderflower & Lime and Cloudberry variants, dubbed ‘The Eclectics’. The two new flavours are alternatives to the original variants, with both being fused with what Kopparberg are calling a ‘perfect serve’; Cloudberry has been matched with pink grapefruit and Elderflower & Lime served over ice and cucumber. The Eclectics encourage people to break the mould, and the #happenings amplifies just that.

Using the hash tag #happenings the competition invites people to message @KopparbergUK on Twitter, telling them as creatively as possible ‘why I want Kopparberg to make something happen’, with the directions to keep the evening of the event free. Despite an influx of competition from other Twitter fans, Colin’s tweet brought the final #happenings event to the centre of Glasgow, with Kopparberg’s truck making it’s final stop of the year at Buchanan Street. Although the events are now complete, fans of the cider brand can still win prizes by sharing their own #happenings – those spontaneous events and experiences of cider in the sunshine – with @KopparbergUK, citing the #happenings hashtag.
