Hailo Launches People’s Cab-inet
Leading taxi app, Hailo, offers free cabs to get the nation to the polls
Leading cabbie app, Hailo, will provide free cabs to the polling station this General Election to ensure busy city workers can get to the polls on time.
The British taxi app company is urging its customers to book their journey in advance using its new in-app pre-book feature so that time-poor workers in London can get to their elected polling station before closing time to cast their ballot.
People registered to vote will be able to book a Hailo in advance between 7-8pm on the 7th May to take them to their local polling station completely free of charge*.
Hailo’s arsenal of drivers will be making themselves available for the busy polling run to ensure as many Londoners can place their vote as possible.
Gary Bramall, CMO at Hailo, commented:
“We believe everyone’s vote counts. In the 2010 election 9% said they didn’t vote because they couldn’t get to a polling station. That 9% could have made a big difference. Time is a scarce commodity for city dwellers so this is our way of encouraging more people to vote and ensuring people get to the polls to have their say.”
“For us this is about people, not politics; participation not policies. We’re committed to giving people a voice and putting our customers at the heart of our business, as well as helping to shape future policy.”
“Our fleet of drivers are some of the most experienced, longest-serving cabbies in this country so understand the importance of ensuring people can vote and help shape the future of this country.”
*Journeys will be free up to the value of £15 and charged at the standard meter charge thereafter.
