Drygate and Rize Up unite to drive youth vote ahead of the December 12th election

The Scottish brewery has created an official beer for Rize Up 2019, the independent voter registration campaign aimed at marginalised young people in the UK

  • All profits from the new beer #RizeUpUK, will be donated to the record-breaking movement to support its outreach and nationwide street teams

Drygate Brewing Co has teamed up with Rize Up, the record-breaking youth voter registration campaign to release a brand-new beer designed to encourage marginalised young people to register and use their vote in the upcoming election on December 12th 2019.

The new beer, #RizeUpUK, launches today to promote Rize Up’s mission of driving registration number amongst young people in the UK, who are statistically the least likely to vote, but who could radically affect the outcome of the upcoming election.

Profits from the sales will be donated to Rize Up to support its nationwide campaign to encourage young people use their vote, to ensure they are represented by politicians who would typically focus their policies on the older demographics – those historically more likely to vote.

The brewery will also be offering a free can of the 4.8% ABV Orange and Mango Pale Ale to anyone who comes into their Glasgow bar and taproom and shows their voter registration confirmation or polling card between 9th-13th December.

This seminal partnership with Drygate marks a major milestone in bringing the campaign to Scotland. The coming days will see young street teams bring the Rize Up message to prominent universities including Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Edinburgh Napier University with events encouraging their peers to stand up and have their say.

Alongside its partnership with Drygate, the campaign returns with stellar support from artists including Maverik Sabre, Professor Green and Rudimental, and leading global brands such as Lush and Ben and Jerry’s. Thousands of volunteers have also joined to bring Rize Up to the streets across the UK making 2019 its boldest campaign to date.
