Quotations

Jon commented:

I’m delighted to be acknowledged for the second time this year. The Aegon award is really prestigious and I’m very much looking forward to receiving the accolade at the O2 arena next month. In the meantime, it’s back to the court to continue my work with some of the nation’s finest young talent.

Anona Lundgren, General Manager of Batchwood Golf Course and Sports Centre commented:

The Aegon award really honours all the hard work that Jon has put into Batchwood’s top notch tennis facilities and programme. His hands-on approach has helped to produce some exceptionally talented youngsters over the last few years and his 2014 awards-haul reflects this truly commendable work.

Councillor Annie Brewster, Portfolio Holder for Sports, Leisure and Heritage at St Albans City and District Council, said:

Jon is an inspirational coach and I would like to congratulate him on this much-deserved award. I would also like to thank him for all his hard work coaching tennis players of all abilities at Batchwood Sports Centre, from newcomers to up-and-coming tennis stars. We look forward to seeing his protégés together with new players in action now the Batchwood Golf Course and Sports Centre is fully up and running.  It is a St Albans facility for everyone to enjoy.
