Batchwood Golf Course and Sports Centre has joined forces with Watling View School in St Albans, which supports children with a wide range of disabilities, and from 3rd November will host a six-week disability tennis programme for pupils at the school

St Albans Sport & Health Development Team has been shortlisted as a finalist in this year’s ukactive and Matrix Flame Awards, the most highly coveted national accolade of the health and fitness sector. The Awards recognise programmes and organisations that have demonstrated exceptional standards across their area of work.
- St Albans Sport & Health Development Team, which aims to increase the awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle to the children and their families, has been shortlisted for the Shaping the Future Generation and Go Outdoors awards, among other leading operators suppliers, operators, educational institutes, health practitioners and corporate organisations from across the UK for offering a leading standard in the provision of sport and leisure
- The rigorous but highly rewarding awards entry process, is the most conclusive awards assessment in the industry
- Alongside being nominated for the prestigious Operator Of The Year Award, 1Life has also been shortlisted for the Go Green Award and the Shaping the Future Generation Award for its swim school programme
Alex Bedford, contract manager at the leisure centres managed by 1Life in St Albans District said:
